Ranthambhore National Park

Ranthambore National Park is in Rajasthan state at north-west of India. It lies in junction of Aravali and Vindhya ranges. It was established as Wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and was included in Project Tiger in 1973. It is spread over and area of 392 sq. kms. Prime wildlife attractions at Ranthambhore are : Tiger, Leopard, marsh Crocodiles, Wild boar, Hyena, Jungle Cat, Caracal, sloth bear, spotted Deer etc. Ranthanbore is bounded by river Chambal in south and River Banas in north. There are also number of lakes here in which prominent ones are : Padam Talab (Talab = Lake), Raj Bagh, Malik Talab. Tenth century fort is another important attraction in Ranthambore in addition to wildlife. It also offers bird watching of more than 300 species of birds.
